The short version.
Krendo is a free Chrome extension and a companion website. You install the extension, it does what the listing says, and you can uninstall it whenever you like. There is no account, no subscription, no service for us to suspend. This page exists so the longer version is here in writing.
Who runs Krendo
Krendo is built and maintained by Ivaylo Katrazanov, an independent developer. There is no company, no investors, no team of customer success managers. Contact: hello@krendo.app.
What you get
A Chrome extension that translates selected text inline, lets you save words alongside the sentence they came from, and helps you review them later. A companion site at krendo.app for browsing your saved library, running review sessions, and exporting your data. Both are free. We commit to keeping the core read-save-review loop free in any future version. If paid tiers ever ship later, they will cover features that genuinely cost money per user (cloud sync, hosted backup), not what is free today.
What we don't promise
Krendo depends on Google Translate's public endpoint for translation and text-to-speech. That endpoint is not under our control. If Google changes or removes it, translation may stop working until we ship an update. Likewise: a future Chrome update, a website's content-security policy, or your own browser configuration can break parts of the extension. We do our best, but the extension is provided as is, without warranties of any kind — express or implied.
We do not guarantee translation accuracy. Translations are machine-generated and intended for reading comprehension, not for legal, medical, or other consequential use.
Acceptable use
Use Krendo for your own reading and language learning. Don't use it to automate bulk translation requests against the underlying endpoint, to redistribute the extension as your own, or to violate the terms of the websites you read with it. If you're not sure whether something is fine, ask.
Your data
Your saved words live in your browser. We don't have a copy. See Privacyfor the full breakdown. If you stop using Krendo, uninstall the extension and the local data goes with it — nothing for us to delete on our side because nothing was on our side.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Krendo and its maintainer are not liable for any loss, damage, lost data, or missed opportunity arising from your use of the extension or the companion site. Your remedy if something doesn't work is to uninstall.
Changes to these terms
If anything material changes — for example, if a future version introduces a paid tier or a hosted sync service with its own terms — this page will be updated before the change ships, with a dated note at the top.
Applicable law
These terms are governed by the law of the European Union and the Republic of Bulgaria, where the maintainer is based. Any dispute we can't resolve over email is subject to the jurisdiction of Bulgarian courts.
