Spanish news, two coffees, an article you want to finish. You select the word, take the meaning, save the ones that mattered. Tomorrow’s read starts grounded.
From the word that stopped you to the one you remember.
Krendo is built around the smallest reading loop: meet a word, translate it where you are, save it with the sentence it came from, come back when you have five minutes. Whether you’re reading Spanish news after a long day or your first French article — same loop, same calm pace.
Read in another language
Open any article, blog post, or page in the language you're learning. The extension stays out of your way until you ask for it — no banners, no auto-popups, no annotations on the page.
When you find a word or phrase you don't know, select it and press Ctrl + Space (Control + Space on Mac). Selection has to be at least two characters.
El periodista ha logrado reconocer a la mujer entre la multitud después de varios minutos de observación atenta.
Translate inline
A small panel opens next to your selection with the translation, dictionary entries, and a play button for pronunciation. It uses Google Translate under the hood, so coverage matches what you'd get on translate.google.com.
Click outside the panel to dismiss. Open Select dropdowns are excluded from the outside-click handler — your interactions never get cut short.
Save words that matter
If a word is worth remembering, save it from the panel. We keep the source language, the target, the sentence the word came from, and the page URL — context is what makes it stick.
Saved words live in your browser's IndexedDB. Open the Saved words page in this site to browse them, filter by language or topic, add notes and tags, archive what you no longer need.

One row in your library. Searchable, taggable, sortable.
Come back and review
Your saved words are waiting at krendo.app/app. Open the dashboard to see what's due, drill a handful from a preset — "Saved today", "Due now", "By tag" — and move on with your day.
Each review moves a word along: new → learning → stronger. Wrong answers downgrade, so the work concentrates on what you actually forget. The library lives on your device, so it's offline and instant.

How it shows up in real reading.
Your first French article. Half the page is new, but you finish it — one stopped-word at a time. The library waits without judgment.
Academic French or German philosophy for a real test. Each word saves with the passage it came from, so the next review pass is grounded in where you first met it.
Portuguese books, Italian essays — comfortable but not perfect. Catch the almost-knowns quietly. Come back when you’re curious, not when a counter demands it.
